With Black Friday around the corner, social media platforms are releasing new features around ecommerce and SMB monetization. Here are the biggest social media updates you need to know this month.

Zoom launches paid events platform
People can now purchase tickets to live, virtual events through Zoom’s new platform, OnZoom. With PayPal handling payments on the platform, OnZoom takes care of the ticketing so creators of all sizes (from fitness instructors to brands like Bacardi) can offer interactive virtual experiences.

Facebook announces “Season of Support” for SMBs
Facebook has launched a collection of free resources including guides, courses and insights, to help small businesses succeed this upcoming holiday season. “Season of Support” has a specific focus on supporting Black businesses by promoting #BuyBlack every Friday from October 30 to November 27.

Instagram launches new features on its 10th birthday

Earlier this month Instagram launched a few new updates, including Stories Map, which offers a private view of where you posted Stories from in the past few years. Another update is the new shopping capability within IGTV, marked by a shopping bag icon at the bottom of IGTV videos.
