"Instead of lecturing about groupthink in my Sociology class, I had them work in groups. They were asked to come to a consensus on the place they would like to eat for lunch, next year's Superbowl halftime performer, and a business they could start. Afterwards, we watched a short video explaining groupthink, and discussed how much (or little) they experienced all aspects of it in their group."

"I'm replacing my 4th-grade lecture with an "I show you WeVideo" and then, "You do/We do" using WeVideo for a project-based lesson for our local science fair. Replacing the Geology, Topography & Watershed lecture with a "Digital Field Guide" project. Instead of listening to a slideshow on land formation, students use WeVideo to produce mini-documentaries on their local valley. Groups will film local topography, record voiceovers explaining erosion and biodiversity, and use WeVideo’s overlay tools to label geological features in their footage. This transforms them from passive note-takers into scientific communicators preparing for the science fair."

"In my mind it is more than hands-on learning or being in motion. It is the opposite of passive learning. Students are participants in planning, they are taking responsibility for their learning and demonstrating their knowledge and skills in a multitude of creative ways which have real world implications."
