Lesson 4 of 5: Effects Panel

Now that you've learned the basics, it's time to dive into more intermediate video editing skills.

In the videos below, you'll learn intermediate video editing skills every video editor should know. These skills include how to create a picture-in-picture, Ken Burns effect, green screen and chroma key, and color grading to elevate your videos and create compelling stories. The last video covers how to preview, export, and share your video once you've finished editing.

Video is a powerful medium of communication that can be used to connect students to an authentic audience in order to amplify youth voice about issues and topics important to them. This can be a great way to motivate students to write as they build foundational and media literacy skills, while also gaining an understanding of how literacy connects to our sense of agency and ability to impact the world around us. Check out the project ideas below that invite students to create media about issues important to them through a variety of writing genres that include personal narrative, informative, and persuasive writing.
