## What is a Horizontal Video?

A horizontal video is a video that's wider than it is tall. Horizontal videos are typically shot and viewed in landscape orientation, or a 16:9 aspect ratio. Horizontal videos are filmed sideways and commonly used for platforms like YouTube, TVs, movies, and video productions.

## Why Horizontal Videos Matter

Horizontal videos show a wider view and therefore represent more of a scene at once. They fit most traditional displays and provide a more cinematic viewing experience. Other benefits to horizontal videos include:
