Make your video marketing bloom this May

April 29, 2021 / By

They say “April showers bring May flowers,” but I live in California where there were no showers. So, do we get flowers? I’m going off on a tangent…what May can bring is more success via video marketing. With Spring in full bloom, there are plenty of occasions and days to highlight to connect with audiences on social media.

Here are a few days that you can create social media posts around and even build video marketing campaigns for.

May 4 – National Teacher Appreciation Day

As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, National Teacher Day celebrates and acknowledges educators all across the country. The National Education Association describes it “as a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives.” Use this as a way to create videos thanking teachers in your community and those that had an impact on your life.

May 9 – Mother’s Day

This holiday is self-explanatory. Whether you grew up with a mother or mother figure, take the time to show appreciation on this day. For brands, this is a great time to promote deals that could double as a gift for mom or highlight some of the moms in your company. It’s also a great time to put together a slideshow with employees and their moms/mother figures.

May 12 – International Nurses Day

With the way the past year has gone, it’s only right nurses get their own day of appreciation. To be fair, they should be celebrated every day. Every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, the whole world celebrates and shows its appreciation for nurses around the globe for what they do. If you’re a company in the healthcare industry, it’s worth taking time to create a GIF or video celebrating this day.

BONUS:

Star Wars Day

Everybody knows Star Wars and the cultural impact it has had on pop culture. Fans around the world celebrate the iconic film franchise on May 4th with May the 4th be with you, a pun on the catchphrase “May the Force be with you.” This is a great day for you and your employees to have fun by dressing as your favorite Star Wars character or showing off your fandom.
